October 2026 Prayer Letter
We returned to Moldova on September 1 after a smooth trip back. We were overwhelmed with the generosity and thoughtfulness of the folks in our churches who loaded us with produce, eggs, meat, and some birthday gifts for me (I came home to find a potted decorative tree waiting for us on our back porch).

God has answered your prayers on several requests. Daniel and Ana are scheduled for their orthodontist appointment on December 1st. That was the soonest I could get an appointment. The place had good reviews and is only an hour away instead of the 3 hr. drive to the capital city. God also provided a vehicle for us with low mileage and in really good condition. After seeing the prices of getting a newer 9 passenger van and the price of fuel, we believe the Lord was leading us to get a small, fuel efficient car and fix up our current van. Since we only need the van for a couple days a week, we will save a good amount of money using the car during the other days. God is also answering prayer with beginning to repair a rift between a couple members in the church plant.
Abby did end up getting her drivers license and has started work as a teacher's assistant. It has been a big adjustment, but we are happy to see the effort she has put into these changes. Pray for her to get to the point where she can comfortably drive to and from work by herself (it is a 20-25 min. drive in Memphis suburb). She did have a setback in all this; she broke her foot on Memorial Day. She lost a week of work, can't drive at all now (it was her right foot), and has the hospital visits and bills to deal with. The last appointment was encouraging and the healing is coming along. Please pray for her in the continual adjustments to adult life in America.
For the church plant in the village of Bulboci, we have an opportunity to buy a small building that was a store in the village. It has two main rooms that are each bigger than the room we meet in at Vasile's house, an area outside that is paved (can be used for games for VBS), and an asking price around $3,000. Because of Moldovan laws being very different from America or even Romania, with the church plants not being registered with the Baptist Union here, the building would have to be purcahsed in the name of individuals. Pray for wisdom with the decision on the possible building purchase and also in whose names we put the house.
Please also pray for several situations in Moldova that are or has high potential for being a burden for everyone here. Like many other countries, fuel prices have reached record highs. Water, electricity, and natural gas prices continue to increase. Now, due to the lack of rainfall this summer and fall, both of Moldova's main rivers are critically low. The Dnister River provides about 84% of Moldova's running water, including where we live. Please pray for rain to resupply the rivers. Moldova has received an increase in Russian drone activity, too. Over half of the incursions have been just this year. There have been close to 50 that entered Moldova just this year. Four just crashed and exploded in this country today. Please pray for the war to end and for wisdom for the leadership in Europe.
Thank you for praying for us, for supporting us, and for encouraging us as we serve the Lord.
